Gong Playground of Sound

A place where we can play with Sound

Playground of Sound promotes a whole-body response to sound, encouraging children to express themselves creatively.

Sessions can include:

•    Interacting with unusual instruments - gongs, singing bowls, bells, etc.
•    Singing songs from a diversity of cultural and spiritual traditions
•    Making pictures and artwork in response to sounds
•    Story telling with sounds
•    Movement and stretching
•    Listening and relaxing

Sessions can be tailor-made to fit curriculum topics and enhance learning and creative development in the areas of Music, Literacy, English, P.S.H.E, & R.E.

Spontaneous experiences of Sound spark a child's imagination, illuminating their inner and outer landscapes. By welcoming and celebrating each child's unique response to sound, Playground of Sound creates a place where everyone can play.

Child Writing Gong

"The Tibetan bowl assembly was a hit(!) The children were fascinated and it was interesting to see how the sounds/vibrations  had a calming effect on the pupils. It would be an idea to try using a bowl in class to help focus and concentration!  They all wanted to have a go on the gong and talked a lot about it afterwards."
