My Story
I am passionate about creating music that contributes to our collective awareness and wellbeing.
Singing from an early age in churches gave me a profound experience of the power of voice. At the age of 15, I experienced a strong calling to use my voice as an instrument of healing and to support others on that journey.
My grandmother was deaf, so I grew up with a sensitivity to those with
different abilities and have worked since I was a teenager with children
and adults with special needs.
I became fascinated with the relationship between performance and ritual whilst studying Literature and Theatre Studies at University and explored the relationship between personal development and creativity at the Institute of Creativity.
During a period of global travel, I began training as a holistic therapist and qualified in Reiki, Massage & Reflexology. I started exploring the use of intentional sound in spiritual practices including Hindu/Vedic Mantra, Kabbalah, Yoga and Pagan Chant.

I have facilitated group and individual sessions and performed at venues including Glastonbury Festival, Glade, Big Chill, Holistic Healing College, Triyoga, Best of Spirits (Austria), Bilgi Paylasim (Turkey) Cecil Sharpe House, Green Note. I have been honoured to work and perform alongside some extraordinary practitioners and musicians including: Barefoot Doctor, Basement Jaxx, Tim Wheater, Nikki Slade and the False Beards.
Inspired by my personal experiences of the power of sound and those I witnessed in others, I started recording music which interweaves original material with song, chant and mantra from global tradition.
Shocked to the core by the damage to our beautiful planet, my first two albums are dedicated to the healing of the elements that make up our existence, The Singing Tree (2009) to the Trees, Shiva's Rain (2011) to Water. I am currently working with Sing for Water and WaterAid to raise awareness about water issues.
I began blending my love of sacred sound with traditional folk songs - my latest album empty cup follows an EP of traditional
songs, fol-de-rose (2010) and
contributions to compilations Echoes from the Mountain (Rif Mountain 2010) and Weirdlore
(Folk Police 2012).
I have also composed a piece - Love and Compassion - for Road to Peace, a documentary about the Dalai Lama which was performed live at the Union Chapel with Lama Lobsang, Tim Wheater and Joshua James Field in April 2013.
I work with a mystic understanding that all creative and spiritual practices are maps of a terrain which ultimately remains beyond description, that they are branches of the same tree. I believe that music has a key role to play in promoting tolerance within our communities as it liberates the possibility of communication across every known border of experience.
My vision is to create an inter-disciplinary arts and therapy centre which is open and inclusive of all.
Please do feel free to contact me with any thoughts or questions.
I look forward to seeing and singing with you soon
