Spring Song!

ROSE SOUNDS  - March News & Events with Katie Rose
Listen for The Song of Spring rising in the sap of plants, in the courting calls of birds, in the sunrays that linger longer on the horizon... All that has been held within us, germinating over winter can now begin to burst forth into the world, the tender shoots of the new finding their way through the ground to be greeted by the fresh spring light.  Amidst the gentle emergings some may flounder, for it may be that our earth is still raw with the withering winds of winter, yet even in the harshest of conditions life emerges like tiny flowers growing between the cracks in the pavement.
Listening out for your spring song on the breeze and hoping to share it with you soon... Happy Equinox! xxkt

February Love!

All You Need is Love - thats the song for February.  Amidst the blatant commercialism and cliches of Valentines Day lies a seed of truth -  Love is the foundation tone of reality.
As we pass through the gateway of Imbolc, moving gratefully towards lighter days-  we can enter more deeply into the true romance - the re-union of the soul within and without.  Whether you are sufi whirling, dancing the tantric path, yogically yoking your soul to the divine, saying Hail Marys, singing AH to open the heart, travelling the Tree of Life or simply getting on with Being You, the invitation into more love is present in every breath. Reclaiming our inner-sense enables us to remember that we are love and to express ourselves generously, creatively, flamboyantly, divinely in the Grand Symphony of Oneness..
May this Valentines remind you that you are your own Beloved, that you are Deeply Loved and that your Love is much needed and appreciated in this world! XXX

Let's join together this Full Moon to send our Love & Support to Haiti

I am honoured to be contributing to a Special Fundraising Event for Haiti at Tulip Yoga in Clapham this Full Moon Saturday - Full Details Below....

Full Moon in Leo, Sun in Aquarius
It is not a question of whether you 'have what it takes,' but of whether you take the gifts you have - they are plenteous - and share them with all the world. - Neale Donald Walsch
The most important thing for anyone, I think, is to be engaged, whether you're an artist or a journalist is to be engaged in the process at some level. - Billy Bragg
Detachment is not indifference. Detachment is love without expecting anything in return and without self importance - Deepak Chopra

It is truly the perfect time to celebrate our own unique gifts and fine tune the way in which we can contribute to the collective.
It is through doing what we are most drawn to, by singing the song that is us - that we sing more perfectly in tune with all of creation.
The Bravery of the Lion Heart gives us courage to share ourselves, to lead and shine with nobility and passion.
Whilst the detachment of the water carrier, Aquarius, reminds us to remain neutral (especially with the Mars retrograde in Leo and powerful conjunctions in Pluto and Jupiter!) -  so that we can balance and carry our precious pails of water to where they are needed.
To transmit ourselves with precise truthfulness requires stripping away our social conditioning - to discard that which would have us believe that our contribution is unworthy, insignificant, or unwanted- and to step joyfully into the self-recognition which requires no external validation - to remember the love that we are and to express ourselves imaginatively, playfully, creatively, spontaneously in the moment.
I invite you to come and take delight in the beauty that is you - to dance and sing your heart out - and to join us in transmitting love and resources to the people of Haiti.
I look forward to seeing you there!
love katiexxx

Happy New Yera

A New Year and a New Decade dawns...  a time to reflect - to look backwards and forwards - like Janus - to lovingly release that which we leave behind as we step through the gateway into 2010...
This time of Initiation - when we make resolutions and commit to changes in our lives - urges us to become leaders in our lives - mastering ourselves inwardly so that our outward leadership becomes clear and bright.
True healing, lasting change occurs when we have transformed the many levels of our being by tuning in and listening for the resonance of our heartsong.
This may require a tuning out and letting go of old conditioning, thought patterns and behaviours to make space for our true soul sound to resound.
At this time when the magic of nature is happening underground, we can dig deep in the roots of our being to find our true needs, desires and intentions, and align with the authentic source of our being.
Wishing you a bright, beautiful and insightful start to 2010 xxxx

Winter Solstice Blessings

XXX SOLSTICE BLESSINGS! XXX

In the deep winter night we celebrate the light
In the flames of the fire we find our hearts desire
In the branches of the tree we set ourselves free
In the roots of the earth we find our true worth

The light returns - and we begin our voyage towards Spring...

The Astrology of this Solstice is immense - Jupiter - planet of expansion and success, Neptune - spiritual and magical awareness and Chiron - the wounded healer -  are all aligned in Aquarius, sign of innovative service to humanity.  This Solstice therefore presents a gateway into new realms of being- an invitation to heal and dance into greater understanding of the cosmic whole.  Following our dreams is no longer just a whacky motto but is now an imperative to live our truth - this is a powerful time to re-dream our reality.. to learn from the deep and difficult teachings of our personal and collective wounds and to draw out the 'Vein of Gold' (Julia Cameron) within and without...
For more Astro wisdom go to www.astrozo.com or book in to see Zoe, the resident Astrologer at Alchemy - she's amazing!

Wishing you a beautiful rising of the Sun and celebration of your natural radiance this Solstice!

December

December Blog

Advent - the Adventure towards the Deepest Darkest Point of Winter -  we voyage carrying flaming torches towards Solstice.  Like the Roman Feast of Reversal, Saturnalia ,when slaves became masters for the day, Solstice is an invitation
to seek out and celebrate the light within the dark and the dark within the light.   It is to the evergreens that we look for inspiration midwinter - to the Holly with its bright red berry nestled like a winter rose amongst the thorns, reminding us that beauty and the beast sit side by side at lifes banquet, to the gift-bearing Christmas Tree, the kiss bestowing miseltoe or the Buddha's Bodhi Tree whose leaves whisper the wisdom of enlightenment.
Wishing you deep midwinter peace amongst the branches of the Tree of Life..xx

Blundering saints

The wonderful things about saints is that they were human. They lost their tempers, scolded God, were egotistical or testy or impatient in their turns, made mistakes and regretted them. Still they went on doggedly blundering toward heaven.

Phyllis McGinley, 1905-1978

I find this quote remarkably reassuring.  Have just read Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda and found it absolutely mind blowing and very inspiring.

Not only are the Yogi's in it capable of extraordinary happenings - de-materialising and re-appearing at will, reading the future, providing insight into the deeper mysteries of the cosmos to name but a few - but they are also wonderfully human.

To celebrate our humanness is to allow ourselves compassion and to share in the huge crazy learning experience which is life on the earth plane. In our weakness and vulnerability, so I am repeatedly reminded, we find our strength.  It is the courage to be in the midst of the chaos which makes sense of it all.

Wishing you a beautiful day!
Katie

We were all singers once - Chris James

We were all singers once

We were all singers once
when the land was wreathed in light
and the angels spun their magic,
world upon world, and universe upon universe.

We were all singers once,
when pure tones were the gifts that we gave to each other,
and we needed to say no more,
and we quantumed time and space within our tones.

We were all singers
once upon a time, when as beings of light we danced thru the planes,
and laughed in symphonies.

Once we sang together and created many things,
that stood the test of time,
and then stood outside it.

Once upon a time we healed as we sang,
and that was all the healing that was needed.

We were singers once and together we held the universe.

We were singers once,
and now we shall sing again,
and the sound will roll back the dark.

As a candle's light is so splendidly different from the night,
so shall the purity of our sound tilt back the chaos and
our souls shall sing together again.

Chris James

Happy Valentines Day!

Behind the blood-stained curtains of Love
there are fields of flowers
where the lovers wander.
While the mind sees only boundaries
Love knows the secret way there.
While the mind smells profit and quickly sets up shop
Love sees untold treasures far beyond.
Lovers trust in the wealth of their hearts
while the all-knowing mind sees only thorns ahead.

To wander in the fields of flowers
pull the thorns from your heart.
